Everlasting summer filled with ill-content This government had us walkin' in chains This isn't my turf This ain't my season Can't think of one good reason to remain We worked in the sugar fields up from New Orleans It was ever green up until the floods You could call it an omen Points ya where you're goin' Set my compass north I got winter in my blood
The bandの曲に"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"という名作がある。
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"
Virgil Kane is the name
And I served on the Danville train
'Till Stoneman's cavalry came
And tore up the tracks again
In the winter of '65
We were hungry, just barely alive
By May the 10th, Richmond had fell
It's a time I remember, oh so well
The night they drove old Dixie down
And the bells were ringing
The band の曲、The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down との関係も書いてあった。
Wiki
George Stoneman, Jr. (August 8, 1822 – September 5, 1894) was a United States Army cavalry officer,
While commanding cavalry under William Tecumseh Sherman in Georgia, Stoneman was captured, but soon exchanged. In the last weeks of the war, he led raids into Virginia that inspired the song "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" by the Band.
